Monika Sroczyńska

Monika Sroczyńska is a pianist, composer, music theorist, and academic teacher. From 2004 to 2016, she studied piano at the Fryderyk Chopin Music School Complex in Piła under Jolanta Reszelska, MA. She later continued her studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (2016–2021), where she studied composition with Prof. Zbigniew Bargielski, piano with Anna Stempin-Jasnowska, DMA, and music theory. During her studies, she received awards from the Polish Composers’ Union in Warsaw in 2016 and 2018 at the International Piano Forum “Bieszczady Without Borders” in Sanok. Her composition Contrasts received an Honourable Mention at the 3rd International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Composition Competition in 2018. In 2021, she was awarded Platinum Medals in both the Composition category for Dislocations and the Piano category for her performance of Leo Ornstein’s 6 Water Colors at the Quebec Music Competition. She has performed regularly at composers’ concerts and at the “Nowa Muzyka” Festival in Bydgoszcz, presenting both her own works and those of other composers.

Since 2021, Monika Sroczyńska has combined an active career as a performer and educator. Her debut album, PianoComposer (2022), features solo and chamber works, while her second album, Christmas Impressions and More (2024), contains fourteen piano compositions. Two works from the latter album, Bagatelle No. 1 and Toccata, were recognised at the International Music Festival “Golden Key” in Vienna, receiving Third Prize in 2025 and First Prize in 2026. In 2023, she received the Piła Starost’s Award in the Culture category. Her international distinctions also include awards from the Golden Time Talent in London (World Talent Award, Third Prize), the World Artistry Music Award (Platinum Prize), and the Around the Globe Piano Composition Competition (First Prize for Arabesque No. 2), among others. A member of the Youth Circle of the Polish Composers’ Union, her compositional output spans piano, chamber, orchestral, electronic, and graphic music.
