I    INTRODUCTION

The Franz Schubert Conservatory (,,Franz Schubert Konservatorium” für Musik und darstellende Kunst) established in 1867.

The Franz Schubert Music Conservatory is the oldest private music conservatory in Vienna.

 


II    VIENNA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION 2025, Vienna/Austria, deadline:  April 12, 2025.


1    The "FRANZ SCHUBERT KONSERVATORIUM" of Vienna together with "International Festival of Classical Music" is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the VIENNA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION 2025  (for artist of all ages and nationalities).

2    All entries must be received no later than  April 12, 2025.

3    The competitionʼs personal data (Pieces/or Foto/or YouTube Link, First Name, Last Name, Date of birth, Citizenship, Address, Telephone Number, E-mail) and Biography must be send to: info@wcma.online

4    The results of the Competition will be published on April 21, 2025.


CATEGORIES

(dance, piano - all instruments - chamber music - orchestra - folklore section - voices - conducting)

1. CAT. - Young musicians born after 01/01/2016. Free program with a maximum duration of  3 minutes.

2. CAT. Young musicians born after 01/01/2013. Free program with a maximum duration of 5 minutes.

3. CAT. -Young musicians born after 01/01/2010. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.

4. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/2007. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.

5. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/2004. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.

6. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/2001. Free program with a max. duration of 5 minutes.

7. CAT. – Young musicians born after 01/01/1999. Free program with a max. duration of 7 minutes.

8. VIRTUOSO – na age limit. Free program with a max. duration of 7 minutes.

9. CAT. – Chamber Music (Classical instrumental groups, from 2 to 9 players). Free program with a max. duration of 6 minutes.

10. CAT. – Orchestra (Folklore and Classical instrumental groups). Free program with a max.

duration of 6 minutes.

11. CAT. – Choir and Voices. Free program with a max. duration of 6 minutes.

12. CAT. -  Jazz, Brass Band, Concert Band, Woodwind Ensemble and Big Bands. Free program with a max. duration of 6 minutes.

 

COMPOSITION

1. CAT. – Solo Instruments (without piano)- ; with a maximum duration of 12 minutes

2. CAT. – Piano Solo- ; with a maximum duration of 12 minutes

3. CAT. - String Quartet; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

4. CAT. – Chamber Music (from 1 to 6 players); with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

5. CAT. – Chamber Music (from 7 to 12 players); with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

6. CAT. - Wind Ensemble; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

7. CAT. - Wind Orchestra; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

8. CAT. – Orchestra pieces; with a maximum duration of 30 minutes

9. CAT. - Voices (solo, ensemble); with a maximum duration of 10 minutes

10. CAT. - Voices (choir); with a maximum duration of 30 minutes

11. CAT. – Folklore Section; with a maximum duration of 10 minutes

12. CAT – Young Composer International Prize – (solo, ensemble or orchestra); applicants born on or after 1st January 2006.

13. CAT – Young Composer International Prize – (solo, ensemble or orchestra); applicants born on or after 1st January 2003.

14. CAT – Jazz (solo, ensemble, orchestra or big band); with a maximum duration of 10 minutes

15. CAT – Film Music; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

16. CAT – Electronic Music; with a maximum duration of 20 minutes

 

FINE ARTS

1. CAT. - Young artist born after 01/01/2010. Free program.

2. CAT. - for artist of all ages and nationalities. Free program.

 

The entry fee is 50€ for 1st piece and 30 Euro for 2nd piece and 10 Euro for 3rd piece

 

PRIZES:

1° CLASS. (95 - 100,00 points) – 250 Euro and 1st Prize diploma

1° CLASS. (90 - 94,99 points) – 1st Prize diploma

2° CLASS. (80 - 89,99 points) - 2nd Prize diploma

3° CLASS. (70 - 79,99 points) - 3rd Prize diploma

 

The Absolute Winner for each Category is the competitor who gained the highest score, but not less than 98/100. - For the 1st Absolute Prize: Prize of 1500 Euros, World Premiere and Diploma.
